Wicked Appetite By Janet Evanovich
Summary:
Lizzie Tucker is a baker. She lives in an old house she
inherited and she has a relatively normal life. Bills, work, all that jazz.
Until of course a supernatural being named Diesel, pops into her life. He tells
her that he is on the hunt of a stone with magical properties and that she will
be able to feel. While Lizzie is skeptical about Diesel, and her, abilities,
she goes along with it anyway. Because you know…he’s hot.
Comments:
I really liked this book. It was rather…basic, in plot and
structure but had plenty of laughs which kept my attention. If you are looking
for a book that keeps you on the edge of your seat this isn’t quite the book
for you. If you are looking for some light reading with potential to laugh,
this is most definantly the book for you.
Quotes:
Lizzie: “My honest opinion was that I was in the presence of
a genuine whacko. If I counted Glo, it would be two whackos. Although, I had to
give Diesel something for being a whacko with a work ethic.”
Diesel: “…The way it’s been told to me is that there are
seven deadly sins known collectively as SALIGIA. Envy, Pride, Greed, Gluttony,
Lusty, Grumpy, and Sneezy.”
Lizzie and Diesel: “Hear that?” I said to Shirley. “Good
news. The spell might wear off.” Shirley flipped me the finger. “More good
news,” Diesel said. “She knows sign language.”
